The Worms Can Carry Me To Heaven by Alan Warner
This book, his fifth novel, is a step change from his previous novels into a more experimental style which seems autobiographical in its detail switching between different times of his(?) life in Spain and his 'Home City' - never named but could be Malaga?. Warner is best known for his first novel, Morvern Callar (1996), after it was made into a movie in 2003 by British director Lynne Ramsay (also made Ratcatcher) starring Samantha Morton. Warner was chosen as a Granta Best of Young British Novelists in 2003.

University Library news + Resources

ISI Web of Knowledge

News from Patricia Killiard, Head of Electronic Services and Systems, Cambridge University Library:
The University Library is pleased to announce that it has taken an early decision to renew its subscription to ISI’s Web of Knowledge (including ISI citation indexes) under the new agreement for UK higher education. As a result, University of Cambridge users have immediate access to the new interface and extended coverage. This includes the Web of Science backfiles as follows:
- Science Citation Index Expanded 1970-1980
- Social Sciences Citation Index 1970-1980
- Arts & Humanities Citation Index 1975-1980
These are in addition to the existing coverage from 1980 onwards. The agreement also covers continued access to ISI Proceedings and Journal Citation Reports (Science and Social Science editions).
The early subscription renewal provides members of the university with access in advance to the updated interface, which will replace the current version on 1 October. To view it and the backfiles go to the current Web of Knowledge site and click on the icon on the top right-hand corner of the screen - or you can click on the same icon at the top of this post. Athens passwords will be required both on and off campus [NOTE: Athens passwords are available at the college library enquiry desk]. Training for public and staff users will be offered by the University Library in due course.
